Electing Godly Leaders - What does the Bible give as qualifications for civil governmental leaders?

I was recently interviewed on "Homekeepers," hosted by Arthelene Rippy.  "Homekeepers" is a television program dedicated to women who fill one of today's most vital roles in society... that of the homekeeper. In this interview, I gave an overview of why homeschooling is growing so quickly in the United States.  This episode aired Tuesday, 10 June 2008 via Direct TV and through the Christian Television Network (CTN).

Imparting Wisdom:  Training Little Solomon's
As Christians, we follow Christ, "[i]n whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge" (Col. 2:3).  Considering we worship "the only wise God our Saviour" (Jude 25), shouldn't we be marked by strong evidence of wisdom?  Shouldn't we train children who also bear traces of the wisdom found in the "little child" Solomon, who became the wisest of all men?  In this class, I will give eight (8) means by which we gain wisdom.  As time permits, I will also give five (5) prerequisites needed to benefit from the means of wisdom.

Retaining Influence Amidst a Million Competing Voices
Once a child's hero who spoke as Ahithophel, as "the oracle of God" (2Sa. 16:23), yet later scorned as a fool not half as sensible—this is the plight of many parents whose voices are drowned out by their child's peers, the media, "experts", etc.  How do you retain a proper form of influence in the life of your children as they see chinks in your armor and develop a wit of their own?  When should you cease trying to steer your child's life?

  New SOFTWARE and Website Developments.    The BTS website is undergoing a transformation.  We are excited about new developments that we are engineering for all current and future BTS owners to enjoy.  Among these developments, we are creating an on-line version of the BTS Reading Planner ® software which will be better than the current CD-based version.  The Web-based version of the Reading Planner should eliminate all compatibility issues that may be experienced by Mac or Linux users or on unsupported versions of Windows.  All current owners of the software will receive free access to the new on-line software.  We will send out a broadcast email to you and all others who've made contact with us or have registered your software.  To be included, send an email to Grow@BalancingTheSword.com stating, "Please notify me of software developments."  The projected completion date is uncertain.  Because so many new features are being developed simultaneously for seamless integration, the process is difficult to estimate.  Be assured this free development is receiving hundreds of hours and much economic investment.   We want to deploy these enhancements as soon as possible.
